Adolescence can be considered one of the toughest times for individuals in life. This is the time when we are discovering who we are and what we want out of life. Adolescents and parents do not always see eye to eye on everything and having a professional, objective view on the situation will benefit when making decisions. My work with athletes at this stage focuses not only on athlete performance, but also with challenges that many teenagers face while at home and/or with peers. Athletes at this level are looking to perform well for many reasons including: self-confidence improvement, peer and parental approval, and scholarship attainment. Having a Sport Psychology Professional can assist with the many issues adolescents face and improve their chances of achieving the success they are wanting in their sport of choice.
